It's a National Holiday in Japan this Monday, so we didn't get an e-mail from Sister Osterloh. Enjoy some of her recent pictures. ------ OK. Sister Osterloh's P-day got switched to Friday this week. So, we've got an e-mail from her. Here we go.......We went through the temple today, so P-day was moved from Monday to Friday. I LOVE going to the temple. It was so hisashiburi ! (it's been long time) It's amazing the peace you feel when you're there. Your problems don't disappear...but the worry and the frustration all just kind of settles and goes away. It's really nice.
Anyways, things are starting to get cold here!!!! Brrrrrrrrr. The day time's not too bad cause the sun warms us up...but the mornings and nights are brutal! Especially when we go out for morning dendo (missionary work) to pass out flayers for eikaiwa (English conversation class).

So, exciting story for the week. I got to go to a Japanese wedding reception! It was way hectic planning and getting ready for it, but it turned out to be amazing. And what's even more amazing is that they gave ALL the left over food to the 8 missionaries serving in the Fukuoka ward! So we had a REALLY nummy lunch the next day:)
It was really fun experiencing a Japanese reception though, TOTALLY different from American receptions. The whole reception is like a show. Everyone prepares a number to present for the bride and groom. The bride is from Okinawa, so we got to see some traditional okinawa dances, heard some singing, the bishopric did a haka (the first councilor's a mauri) and the YSA boys did a hilarious skit where they all dressed up in Tulip heads...don't ask me why. But it was a blast. Definitely an experience I didn't think I'd have on my mission.

The missionaries have been asked to participate in the Christmas concert. The ward has somehow arranged for us to sing in front of the Giant Christmas tree in front of the shopping center at Tenjin! WOW. So we want to make it really awesome...so we need to start practicing NOW.

Everyone LOVED the pumpkin cookies (I took them all to the EIKAIWA Halloween party) It was a huge hit! And the Elders loved the reeces and rolo cookies. And I loved making them! Haha. It was funny though, it was definitely an American recipe. Sweet and large. My companion was super surprised. She was like "What?! It makes 48 cookies?!?!?!?!" Yup, that's America for you.
Transfers are next week. This next transfer is going to be pretty crazy. 5 sisters leaving and only one coming in. Which makes me the second to longest senior companion sister in the mission. WHAT?! And the other sister goes home next transfer. Yikes. These next few transfers are gonna get exciting:)
